Repertory Dance Theatre presents Summerdance 2012, an in-depth dance workshop with master teacher and choreographer, Susan Hadley, former principal dancer with Mark Morris, Senta Driver and Meredith Monk, rehearsal director of White Oak Project and currently Professor of Dance at Ohio State University.
Workshop Participants will have the opportunity to study Modern Dance Technique and Composition with Ms. Hadley and will learn Hadley's, "Commonplace" alongside the RDT dancers, as they prepare for the 2012-13 Season.
Participants will also study Improvisation and learn historical and contemporary repertory selected from RDT’s vast modern dance library. All participants will perform in the final workshop showing with the RDT Company on Friday, June 29.

*Twice a week, students will have "Lunch Sessions" with activities ranging from historical videos, lectures, and Q&A sessions with RDT dancers and choreographers.
SaltDanceFest is a two week dance festival exploring the creative process, with daily classes in technique, composition, partnering and repertory. SDF faculty includes Vicky Cortes (Costa Rica – former dancer with Pina Bausch and Susana Linke), Marina Mascarell (Spain and the Netherlands – former dancer with Nederlands Dance Theater I & II and Cedar Lake Contemporary Ballet) and Paul Selwyn Norton (UK and Australia – former dancer with William Forsythe). Susan Hadley (Professor at Ohio State University) was a principal dancer with the Mark Morris Dance Group, performing internationally and on Dance in America. She was a member of Senta Driver's company HARRY and she performed with Meredith Monk. As rehearsal director for Mark Morris she worked with Baryshnikov's White Oak Dance Project, with Zivili's premier of The Office, and with the Royal Opera's production of Platee. Her own work has been performed by Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, Repertory Dance Theatre, American Repertory Ballet, BalletMet Columbus, Ballet Memphis, Ballet Pacifica, The University Dance Company, CATCO, and Drums Downtown. Hadley's work has been supported by the National Endowment for the Arts, New York Foundation for the Arts, New York State Council on the Arts, The Choo San Goh Foundation, Ohio Arts Council, Greater Columbus Arts Council, OSU College of the Arts, and Wexner Center for the Arts. At OSU, where she received her MA in Dance, Hadley teaches modern technique, composition, repertory and pedagogy. She is the recipient of the 2002 Colleges of Arts and Sciences Outstanding Teaching Award, and the 2006 OSU Alumni Award for Distinguished Teaching.
For 27 years,Lynne Wimmer was a professor in the Department of Theater and Dance at the University of South Florida where she taught modern dance , choreography, kinesiology and Laban Movement Analysis. She received a BFA from the Juilliard School in New York City and an MFA from the University of Utah. In 1989 she was awarded a CMA diploma (Certified Movement Analyst) from the Laban Institute. Her professional performance career included nine years as a member of the Utah Repertory Dance Theater and a year and a half with the Ballets Felix Blaska in Paris France. She received choreographic grants from the arts councils in the states of Florida, Pennsylvania and Utah as well as the National Endowment for the Arts. Her work has been performed by various university and professional modern dance companies including Repertory Dance Theater, the Tampa/Colorado Ballet, Moving Current Dance Collective and The Juilliard Dance Ensemble. Internationally, her choreography has been performed by companies in Europe, Costa Rica, Mexico and Canada. She directed her own company for five years and is a recipient of two Fulbright Lecturer awards – one to teach and choreograph in Mexico and one to teach and choreograph in Costa Rica. Her current research lies in the fields of dance for camera and videography. Recently she has edited three documentaries for Jewish Family Services of Utah and is working on a documentary of the Bill T. Jones residency at USF. She has also completed several video designs for choreographers in the Tampa area. She joined the dance faculty of USF in 1983 and recently retired in the spring of 2010.
