Contemporary classics that feature constantly evolving patterns and are infused with ceremonial memory. Works pay homage to community rituals, rites of passage and celebration.

ENERGIZER - (1980) by Molissa Fenley

Exuberant, aerobically demanding movement and precise steps woven into evolving patterns. The choreography is playful and precise, with simple, clear steps wound into constantly evolving patterns. Fenley recently restaged the original piece in 2013 for the first time since 1980.

PIGS AND FISHES (1982) by Elisa Monte

A driving piece on the formation of society through converging forces. Originally performed by RDT in 1989-90 season, it has remained a favorite of audience and Company members alike.

DABKE (2012) by Zvi Gotheiner

Recognized by The New York Times as one of Alastair Macaulay's TOP TEN DANCE FAVORITES OF 2013, Zvi Gotheiner's "Dabke" is based on a Middle-Eastern folk dance, a line dance often performed at weddings, holidays and community celebrations. Strongly referencing solidarity, the dancers, linked by hands or shoulders stomp the ground with complex rhythms, emphasizing their connection to the land.

CHANT (1967) by Tim Wengerd

Created in 1967 by a member of the original company, Tim Wengerd, "Chant" is inspired by the reverence for the space and inner concentration present in traditional Pueblo dance.
