RDT invites Utah students and teachers to attend FREE matinee performances of our regular season concerts performed at the Rose Wagner Performing Arts Center (138 W 300 S). Schools are responsible for arranging transportation of their students to/from the performance venue. Schools are provided with Study Guides prior to each performance. Space MUST be reserved in advance, and is filled in the order requests are received. To reserve spots for your students, please fill out and return enclosed form. Infinity/At the Core workshops and matinee performances are provided free of charge, thanks to funding from the Utah State Office of Education POPS program, Utah Arts Council, Salt Lake County Zoo, Arts & Parks Program, and the Salt Lake City Arts Council.
Mystique is a concert of contrasts: East/West, Male/Female, Historic/Contemporary, Yin/Yang. Legendary choreographer Michio Ito (1893-1961) created a synthesis of Japanese Noh and Kabuki, characteristic gestures drawn from Eastern and Western cultures that left a footprint on American Modern Dance. Norwegian choreographer, Jo Stromgren, is influenced by French existentialism, dark winters and lonely fjords but his work, Kraak, offers a certain lightness and absurdity along with exposive dynamic energy.
